Movement

Experimentation:

With the sun setting so early in these autumn/winter days, it is very easy to use low light situations to practice your long exposure skills.

Wednesday 18th Nov we will experiment with long exposures and “painting with light” in a darkened studio environment. We will work in pairs/small groups with tripods and various exposure lengths to practice gaining results like these:

Present a gallery of your experimentation on your blog and explain what the task asked you to do, what you learned from this experimentation, how is it relevant to your project, can you use what you have learned to produce your movement work?

You are then asked to continue the experimentation independently, in studio and as homework outside of college. If this technique doesn’t apply to your individual project, please present your experimentation so that you can be credited for the following criteria:

  • “Apply practical skills, knowledge and understanding of the characteristics and operational context to produce creative solutions for a chosen art and design activity”
  • “Select appropriate materials to develop creative solutions for a chosen art and design activity”

TRIP PROPOSAL:

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland! Wednesday 25th Nov. Free entry however, as a college we are unable to pay for your transportation for this trip (sorry!). You will also have to make your own way home due to other commitments.

What do you think? http://hydeparkwinterwonderland.com/

We can travel together from college at 14:20 or you can meet us there (you pay your own tube fair) on the Piccadilly Line to Hyde Park Corner. We can stay until 5pm (you can stay later!) and you make your own way home at the time. Use the Winter Wonderland to produce project work or to continue your experimentation. Bring money, eat a sausage!

As always both of these opportunities for experimentation can only be used as final outcomes for assessment if it applies to your personal proposal.
